Rix and Kay
Partner and Head of Rix & Kay’s Residential Property Team in Brighton & Hove, Angela Arnold joined a panel of female leaders as part of University of Brighton leadership & management development programme for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) and Female employees.
The Female Leaders Q&A is part of the University’s commitment to increase representation of BAME and Female leaders at all levels of the organisation. The session will provide an opportunity for participants to hear first hand from female leaders about their experiences and challenges.
Julie Fryatt, Director of People at the University of Brighton commented,
“Our Leadership programmes are one of many incredibly important positive actions we are taking to promote inclusion across the University of Brighton, for colleagues where we have under-representation. 2020 saw us launch two new programmes, to provide a great platform for a group of staff to reflect on and progress their leadership development. These Q&A panel sessions are one of the highlights and we are so grateful to our speakers for giving up their time to inspire and support our staff.”
Joining Angela Arnold on the panel are Jo Shiner, Chief Constable of Sussex Police and Professor Flis Henwood, Professor of Social Informatics and School of Applied Social Science and University of Brighton.
As well as a Q&A session, the initiative aims to support participants enabling them to broaden their leadership skills and enhance their confidence in leading others.
Angela qualified as a lawyer in 2007 and originally joined Rix & Kay as a locum in 2015. During the same year she made her position with the firm permanent and was appointed as Associate in Rix & Kay’s Residential Property Team in Sevenoaks, Kent. In 2018 she was appointed Partner and asked to lead Rix & Kay’s Residential Property Team.
Responsible for the growth of the team, Angela took the decision to relocate to Brighton to further enhance Rix & Kay’s Residential Property offering in the region. Angela was also part of Rix & Kay’s dedicated leadership development programme and is now a member of Rix & Kay’s wider management team responsible for the strategic growth of the business across Sussex and Kent.
Angela Arnold commented,
“Having experienced numerous challenges in my career, I’m passionate about sharing what I have learnt along the way and helping others to realise their potential and become great leaders. If I can pass on a little insight and help others understand that they have what it takes to fulfil their ambitions, then I find that hugely rewarding.
